What stands behind the label?

LuxFLAG is an independent and international non-profit association launched in July 2006 in Luxembourg by seven public and private founding partners. LuxFLAG Environment is one of a total of seven labels awarded by LuxFLAG.

The main objective of the LuxFLAG Environment label is to reassure investors that the investment product invests their assets primarily in environmentally related sectors in a responsible manner. The label was launched in July 2011. The process for inclusion can be triggered four times a year.

A fund’s qualification criteria are communicated transparently. One out of six eligibility criteria for the label requires that funds have a portfolio of investments in environmentally related sectors equal to at least 75% of the fund’s total assets.

The Environment Label Eligibility Committee (ENVLEC) consists of five members from the private and public sectors who decide on the applications. In addition, there are other LuxFlag management boards that have to approve the application.
