What stands behind the label?

LuxFLAG is an independent and international non-profit association launched in July 2006 in Luxembourg by seven public and private founding partners. The LuxFLAG ESG label was launched in May 2014 as the first European ESG label, and is one of a total of seven labels awarded by LuxFLAG.

The focus of the LuxFLAG ESG label is to promote sustainable development. The process for listing can be triggered four times a year.  The awarded funds have to be reviewed annually.

Description

The eligibility criteria for the ESG label require applicant funds to demonstrably screen 100% of their invested portfolio throughout the investment process according to one of the ESG strategies and standards recognized by LuxFLAG. A total of five criteria are clearly described, including exclusion criteria, for the award of the label.

Description

The ESG label eligibility committee (ESGLEC) consists of nine members from the private and public sectors who decide on the applications. In addition, there are other LuxFlag management boards that must sign off on the listing. LuxFLAG uses only a one-step process consisting of a suitability check.
