What stands behind the label?

LuxFLAG is an independent and international non-profit association launched in July 2006 in Luxembourg by seven public and private founding partners. LuxFLAG Green Bond is one of a total of seven labels awarded by LuxFLAG.

The main objective of the LuxFLAG Green Bond label is to assure investors that the green bond follows internationally recognized standards and uses its proceeds to finance green projects. The label was launched in September 2017. The process for listing can be triggered four times a year.

The Green Bond Label Eligibility Committee (GBLEC) consists of two members from the private and public sectors who decide on the applications. In addition, there are other LuxFlag management boards that have to approve the listing.
